New trends in frozen food market driven by eco-conscious consumers in Europe
Depending on the animal the meat is from, the meat must be processed, stored and transported at a different temperature. For poultry, for example, this is a maximum of 4 degrees Celsius, while for wild meat it is a maximum of 7 degrees Celsius. Gel packs are often used for refrigerated transport at a temperature of 2 to 8 degrees. These are leak-proof bags filled with a coolant, which you bring to the right temperature for transport. To ensure temperature stability during transport and to keep the meat cooled for longer, combine it with a well-insulating packaging box. Popular options are the EPS box made of light polystyrene foam and the EcoCoolBox, which is a more environmentally conscious alternative.
If you want to transport meat frozen or at a different temperature range, you can also have the gel packs filled with PCM: Phase Change Material. This allows you to realize frozen transports down to -21 degrees Celsius.
When cooling your fresh products such as meat, the growth of the micro-organisms stops. The spoilage is then paused. Different microorganisms have different characteristics. Yet almost all micro-organisms grow at a temperature between 10 and 40 degrees Celsius. As a result, keeping meat chilled already significantly slows down spoilage. Freezing completely stops the growth of the micro-organisms.
Whether you want to send your meat products chilled or frozen, and whether you transport them with or without return flow; Coolpack has the expertise and facilities to offer appropriate tools and to realize your refrigerated or frozen transport. Feel free to contact us for the possibilities: they are almost endless!
We are ready to answer all your questions and help you find a suitable solution for your cooled transport in the Food industry.

For refrigerated transport of fresh meat at 0°C to 8°C, we recommend using our non-toxic, food safe gel packs in combination with an insulating packing box such as a Styrofoam EPS box. This keeps your products protected and prevents downtime due to cold chain interruptions.
Do you transport dieprvies meat, say through a webshop? Then the supergel pack at -21 °C is the ideal solution for you. It keeps meat below the critical temperature of -12 °C for a long time, so your products are protected even at high summer temperatures.
