Phase Change Material (PCM) is a collective term for all materials that can change phase. So this material can alternate between forms of solid, gas and liquid.
Phase Change Material (PCM) is a collective name of all materials that can change phase. So this material can change between forms of solid, gas and liquid.
The difference between PCM and a gel pack is that with PCM you can change the melting point of a cooling element, gel pack or cooling plate. Such a cooling element is normally filled with standard gel or water, but with our PCM solution, a substance is added to this. This can be salt, for example. This addition changes the freezing point or solidification point of the gel pack or cooling element to temperatures between -33 and 65 degrees Celsius. This gives you a stable heat storage and thus a stronger insulation value.
Several industries use Phase Change Materials (PCM) to maintain desired ambient temperatures. The applications vary widely, as do the specific needs and requirements within different industries. Our PCM solution is compatible with virtually any cooling element, such as gel packs or cooling blocks. Together, this allows us to create customized refrigerated/conditioned transport for you.
Application PCM
PCM offers a solution for products where a small temperature range applies and stability is desired. Sometimes the standard range of 0 to 8 degrees Celsius is sufficient and you can make do with the standard placks and cooling elements. For a larger temperature range, or more complex transport, PCM is the ideal solution.
Sustainable solution
PCM refrigerants are reusable: you can bring them to the specified temperature over and over again. And together with our refrigerated packaging, before you know it, you have a complete thermal cooling solution!
We are ready to answer all your questions and help you find a suitable solution for your cooled transport.
