Under the expert guidance of Bunzl’s Sustainability Manager, Joost Lips, we have achieved a remarkable 60% increase in CO2 efficiency since 2010, setting an industry benchmark to be proud of. Yet, this is just the beginning of our transformative voyage. Our joint ambition with Bunzl is to amplify our CO2 efficiency by an impressive 25% by 2025, measured against our 2019 baseline, with a vision to surpass a 50% increase by 2030. In our commitment to global environmental stewardship, we have pledged our active participation in the United Nations’ ‘Race to Zero’ campaign, aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The strategy encompasses the optimization of transport vehicles, a transition to a sustainable fleet, a seamless integration of green energy, and the continual enhancement of the operational infrastructure.

With a strong belief that the most sustainable kilometer is the one not traveled, we have combined deliveries to customers and are using return trips for transporting packaging, reducing unnecessary mileage significantly. With our combined efforts, Cool and De Ridder have effectively slashed 15,000 transport kilometers annually and saved a staggering 73,000 kilograms of CO2 emissions.
